AI Isn’t Taking My Job. It’s Joining My Team.
There’s a lot of noise going around right now about AI replacing jobs. Personally, the way I see it is AI is my teammate, my co-programmer, not competition.
For me, AI is like having a friend who has read the entire internet. Why wouldn’t I want that kind of partner in my work? It helps me:
- Speed through repetitive tasks so I can focus on solving real problems
- Explore new approaches when I hit a wall
- Keep the human side of engineering front and center. Such as empathy, creativity, and ethical judgment
As a soon-to-be software engineering graduate, I’ve leaned into AI because it multiplies what I can do, rather than replacing what I can do. The human touch is still essential still in a world where humanity exists. Communicating ideas, making tough trade-offs, and building trust cannot be automated.
To me, ignoring AI today would be like ignoring the internet in the 1990s. You can, but you will just get left behind.
That’s why I’m not afraid of AI. I’m building with it, and I’m growing with it.
